More about Karan Mehra: Karan Mehra was born on 10 September 1982 in Jalandar, Punjab. Karan's father Ajay Mehra is a businessman who runs a Construction Company while his mother is a homemaker. Karan had no interest in his Fathers Business. After doing a Fashion Designing Course from the National School of Fashion Technology(NIFT) in Delhi, he shifted to Mumbai for further studies. While doing the Course in Mumbai, he met popular film directors Ram Gopal Verma and Raj Kumar Hirani who suggested that he take up Acting as a Career. He then started working behind the Camera as Assistant for these Directors to learn the tricks of the trade. He also appeared in Bollywood Films like Love story 2050, Blood Money, Mere Dad Ki Maruti and Badmashiyaan in supporting roles. He also started doing Modeling and TV commercials side by side. The turning point of his Acting Career happened when he was chosen to portray the Lead role of Naitik Singhania in the Star Plus popular Serial “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai”. He married his Bollywood Actress-Singer girlfriend Nisha Rawal whom he had met on the sets of the Bollywood Film "Hastey Hastey". The Couple got married on 24th November 2012 after dating for six years. He participated in the Dance Reality Shows Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati along with his wife Nisha Rawal. Karan and Nisha now has a son named Kavish.
Karan Mehra quit YRKKH in 2016 after playing the role of Naitik Raj Shekhar Singhania for 7 years due to personal problems. Karan Mehra participated in the Reality Show Bigg Boss 10 as a Contestant but could survive in the Bigg Boss House only for 5 Weeks. After that, he did a short stint in the Indian Comedy Show Khatmal E Ishq... Do Phool Ek Maali on SAB TV as Sumit Mishra.
